Ratchet Tie Downs
Can anyone out these recommend a good brand of Ratchet Tie Downs for the boat/trailer?....preferably ones that don't jam or corrode

Re: Ratchet Tie Downs
Bunnings sell some heavy duty stuff. Comes with fancy carbon fiber ratchet handles and housings..
Theres also ones you can buy that attach permanently to the trailer like tou see on most bass boats. Probably cost a bit I'd say.
I just have normal bunnings ones and spray wd40 on them occasionally..

I’ll be buying these puppies after getting a bit of gelcoat damage from having ratchets mechanism rub on the back of the transom

Re: Ratchet Tie Downs
Nah these don’t. But the hook is very low. So it is away from the hull.Mattblack wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 6:39 amDo these bolt onto the trailer?ducky wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 1:40 amI’ll be buying these puppies after getting a bit of gelcoat damage from having ratchets mechanism rub on the back of the transom

The trailer ones are double the price. Plus I reckon it’s a thief magnet in addition to getting submerged on the reg.

Re: Ratchet Tie Downs
I have the same issue ducky, on both sides of my boats transom the paint has rubbed off from the friction between the ratchet mechanism and boat. Pretty annoying!ducky wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 1:40 amI’ll be buying these puppies after getting a bit of gelcoat damage from having ratchets mechanism rub on the back of the transom
