Hmmm guess it's a tad late now that you have soil in there already - but I would have suggested filling the bottom with crushed rock or scoria and only half filling with soil.
It improves drainage and most veggies only have short root systems so don't need heaps of soil depth.
I did it on my raised bed and it works a treat.

Most horse places give away all the old horse manure for pretty cheap. Been ages since I did it last, (like 10 years) but I used to have a vieegie patch approx 5mtrs x 20mtrs wide and used to get trailer loads of horse poo for a gold coin donation

I use to use.horse poo years ago but kept getting more weeds then normal
