The council ranger

Post by Wolly Bugger » Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:59 pm

Hi guys, I would like to know under what circumstances can a council ranger enter your property without your permission and forcibly remove a dog,

Do they need a court order to do this.

They are authorised to enter private property under certain legislation, animal control would be one of them.

My two dogs dug a whole under the fence and escaped, a lady was walking her dog, not sure of the story there, they may have been barking at it, She rang the council, they captured the BC easily as he loves people, and the kelpie returned to the yard.

My next door neighbour offered to take the dogs and look after them, but the ranger would not let her. According to my next door neighbour, the ranger said that these dogs had never been on a lead and that they needed to go to obedience training.

I walk the dogs on a lead, take them down the street, and I am a member of the local dog obedience club, to which the dogs have been attending, They missed a few weeks as I have just had them desexed.

Sure they need more training as they are only 6 months old and we are trying to socialize them more.

My dog has ran away a couple times, Hes a staffy, and both times ended up at the pound. I just paid to get him out.. If they didn't attack anyone or anything like that there shouldn't be a problem..?
