punch bowl is not always this good. There are many times that the only fish to be had are mullets and small salmon. And for beginners, that is a calm day for punch bowl. Dont be fooled by what this video showed, while you can dodge a few big waves, one bad knock and your head hits the rock. That place is a killer. Not risking my life for salmon. I will never go back to that place again after seeing a friend slip and got hit on the shin big time.

These guys should be spinning and not bait fishing.

one more thing, that rock ledge must be 200 meters down (could be more) the car park level, The way down in very dangerous too. You slip on Monday, you will reach the bottom on Friday. :roflmao:

Yes, i agree with what has already been said. Punchbowl is a very dangerous place to fish. I have wanted to fish there in the past but after doing some research my family have banned me from going near the place. Not worth the risk for a few salmon. A few people have been killed there as well.

Please guys, don't misunderstand me...

I just wanted to show how serious and dangerous this place is, not to get anybody tempted.

I've been there maybe 25 times...........and I'll go again.

But I don't recommend anyone go.

There are better spots to fish anyway.

looks like theres a small beach on the right side in the video
why cant people fish off the beach? or is that dangerous as well..
never been there heard a lot about it, tempted to go just for a look with a camera (not fish)
asking for trouble??? (im not planning on going down to the ledge where they are fishing)

cheers

There was a fisherman who disappeared and all they found was some gear left behind. Not sure if it was at the punchbowl.
