What would you do to become debt free?

Everything that has nothing to do with fishing.

Some interesting stories on here.

I am currently loaded up in debt having moved from Melbourne's inner suburbs to Lakes Entrance ~18 months ago. My wife & I bought a little holiday accommodation business in Lakes Entrance and since it is "specialised" property we could only borrow 60% of the value and had to stump up the rest in cash, which was pretty much everything we had.

Currently my wife is running the business and working as a Myotherapist 7 days a week and I am working a full time job in Bairnsdale as well as running the business after hours and on the weekends. I also do some volunteer work a couple of times a week. So it's pretty much 7 days a week 12hrs a day for both of us atm.

But all things going to plan we should own it outright in another 8 or so years and then we will have the ability to work ~9 months a year and holiday the other 3 months.

So far so good, but time will tell how it all plays out.
Good on ya mate
Keep it up.
You have more enthusiasm then me
How’s the move going for you Smile

It's a 20 million Tattslotto superdraw next Saturday, and I have a tip from a mate that No 7 is coming out for sure. Only having to pick 5 numbers from 44 leaves a probability of winning of 44!/5x(44-5)! = about 1 in 26 million. I think I have it in the bag, sure could use it at the moment.
Cheers

Hi all, well, I did not win, and No 7 did not come out like my mate said it would. I don't know if I can trust this guy, he has told me stories about 50 cm KG whiting & garfish, & 90 cm duskies, but I have not seen him catch much at all so I have my doubts and have not seen any photos from him. The next super draw is on the 25th July and I will have another go then and not pick No 7 on any of my entries.
Cheers
Ango.

Perseverance Ango !!!

If you keep knocking on the door then He will answer you one day - hopefully sooner rather than later :)

Still in the far queue for last week $30mil Powerball but looking at the glass half full - there's another $20mil on offer for me this week :te: ... yep!! The jackpot for 1st division has gone to $50mil ... imgaine how many of The Captain featured boats i can get with that stash of cash :sr:

PS - if there was a bullet proof system or prediction method regarding which number will come up i think your friend would have kept it for himself - i know i would!! Leave it to the lotto god to decide if your name will be called out.

Take whatever you spend on lottery tickets /practically any gambling and put it in something like a Vanguard fund. In 20 years there is almost no chance you won't be better off.

This is true. I put as much as I can in super by salary sacrificing and topping it up to as close to 25k as possible. Then slowly building up shares in low cost index funds.
