Wedge-tailed eagle killing in Gippsland

Post by Fishbref » Tue Sep 25, 2018 12:22 am

So, a******* kills 420 wedge tailed eagles and gets off on 14 days jail and $2500 fine, when the prescribed penalty is $8K for the first, and then $800 per "illegally" killed bird - htf is this reasonable? Am I missing something?

Absolutely ******* disgusting... both the act itself and the punishment

Pretty much just a slap on the wrist. Should be good to go cruelly slay more iconic aussie birds after a cruisey 2 weeks in a minimum security prison.

"A department spokesman said on Monday night that the investigation into the deaths was ongoing."

Even after being charged ? seems like a lot more to this case than what's been reported..
