Safety first VIC emergency

Post by Sebb » Sun Mar 03, 2019 9:43 pm

Hi fellow fishos.

As much as we know how hard it is to hold our craving to go fishing, we also need to be safe.

Being in one of the hotest, driest and combustible place on earth, we often hear bush fire here and there.
In the last few weeks, I have been checking VIC emergency web site before heading out. Certainly helps to plan out the trips, etc.

A good tip for all! I physically cant handle the heat myself so I don't fish when the weather is very hot. On the real bad fire days I often find myself on standby in the local CFA incident control centre.

Over the season we have had some fires get going in the Strathbogie Ranges but thanks to the work of our people on the ground and in the air they have pulled the fires up. We have 'dodged some bullets' here. Unfortunately other parts of the state have not been so fortunate.
Cheers
Jim

Too right Seb (love the new profile pic too). Never can be too careful and always good to be as well informed as possible. But also Hats Off to all the guys & girls who keep us safe and head to the hot spots as we are heading to safety.

Tasmania had/has also had a hard slog of the Bush-fires too, unusually higher than normal for that little apple state. So, we are never truly away from any possibilities of any danger , , , , vigilance, good judgement and sense.
