The Teslas outperform pretty much everything else at this point. A performance electric 4wd is not far off in the future. I'd love to be able to solar charge a proper off roader but I'd guess that's a long, long way away. The political talk amounts to nothing more than a scare campaign really, both parties policies were almost identical but the LNP successfully ran a DEY TAKEN MAH CARRRSZZZZ campaign.
Electric vehicles are the way of the future. It is happening organically in society already and doesn't need to be legislated. Anyone who doubts the performance of the Tesla's by this stage is either intentionally ignorant or politically tribalised to the point that it wouldn't matter if they charged instantly and outperformed everything 10 fold.
