Rowville Lakes

Post by ChrisD » Mon Jan 30, 2012 7:51 pm

Hit Rowville lakes up tonight with my daughter. Were there for about an hour, on the middle lake, and she managed to catch a nice little roach.
Made her happy, not only that she caught something, but that her Dad didn't even manage a bite.
Will have to get back there and try again and see what else the lakes offer.

lots of small trout, and reddies!! either maggots or powerbait works there, I was loosing too many fish until i made powerbait half size, then bang!! hooked 17 trout oneday, all released. If your ever in around carnegie, call into east coast auto spares, chat with Kin, hes won some comps in the lake. I have only caught odd reddies, but a local coarse fishing dude reckons hes plagued by them some days. I normally have a casual fish next to playground, my little boy loves playing, if we get a fish, normally one every time. not too serious tho. hes happy!!
You know when they have a fishing show on TV? They catch the fish and then let it go. They don't want to eat the fish, they just want to make it late for something.

Thanks Borntofish, sounds like I need to grab some powerbait and get back down there.
We were fishing near the playground as well, so sounds like the place to be.
If the weather holds out, may have to get back there over the weekend.

let me know, if weathers not too bad in arvo, might go down there, can also give you a little help, or vice versa

Hit the lakes up again tonight, but nothin biting other than the mozzies....
But it was still a good way to finish the working week.
Tried corn on the bottom and under a drift float, even threw a few spinners out as the sun set, but not even a nibble.
Saw a few others around the lake giving it a go and no one seemed to be doing any good.
Will have to get hold of some power bait and get back there soon.

Do you live close to the lakes Chris? Just wondering if you are the Chris I used to fish with in Rowville lakes who comes with his old man from time to time?

Never been there lately...

Hi Fish-cador, no different Chris, I've only been there twice so far.
