New Car
Guys
in the market for a newer model car
im looking at mainly a
Commodore omega VE model series 2
Falcon FG
Aurion sportivo
have any of you had any experience with either of these cars. problems to look out for , maintenance cots etc...
I am swaying towards the Commodore wagon cause I like the looks of it, and it also has the SIDI 3.0 litre engine which should be easy on fuel compared to the other 2
this car will also be used as a tow car.
any help appreciated..
cheers

Re: New Car
I'd lean towards the Ford for towing. Not entirely sure how the SIDI engines go, but the Ford 6's are full of torque, great for towing.

Re: New Car
Used as a tow car for around 200kg of boat shazzagraz.
Mate a pulsar will tow that boat around.
I'd get factory gas falcon or commodore depending on whatever shape you like. Wagons are good for 1 piece rods.

Re: New Car
Can't comment on the wagons or sedans, not that there's much difference really, but my old girl has a FG falcon ute with factory gas and a mate recently traded in his VE Sv6 ute(tarted up omega really), the falcon has elec brakes and tows horse floats, stock crates and trailers without an issue and the VE pulled a 5m aluminium boat, trailers with dirt bikes etc and neither of them had any issues at all.
Both were easy to drive, just the utes are a pain with blind spots but a wagon or sedan would be fine, comfortable etc.
The only issues either of them had were the nav system in the VE spat the dummy and every now and then the cat converter on the falcon can smell like rotten eggs.
Maintenance costs kind of depend where you get it serviced, from personal experience holden dealers charge an arm and a leg, my last service they rang me to see if I wanted them to change the globe in my tail light... For $40-50 HA

Re: New Car
Aurion is better quality of the three but the VE is a pretty good design.
Also check out the mazda 6.

Re: New Car
The boat isn't a big boat atm. But if I do like boating is see myself in a bigger 4.1 of the same version. So sort of planning ahead.
I like the Wagon shape of the omega commodore.
Can sleep in it if I have to. Lots more room and also as ducky mentioned one piece rods are a possibility
But do prefer the ford engine on gas for economy. Plus I belive they are also the towing champions
Toyota also has ultra reliability.
So bit of a confusion for me atm..
I will have about 12k max to spend. . Depending on what I can sell my current car for
