Yep - but beggars can't be choosers. That's why I'm thinking the strategy is to just hit one piece of structure or specific small area.

You could buy ross gould's viking nemo for ~$350 I think sloth. It's a bit of a pig in the wind but quite handy. I've done about 8kms of paddling in it at blue rock. I'm pretty certain he was considering selling it. Definitely be a good entry level yak. I considered taking it off his hands.
