They’re fine on the boat, they don’t tend to flick around as violently as little flathead so if you drop one on the floor or the bait board you can easily brain spike it without any risk to yourself. They taste better bled out but you don’t get much meat off them

:thumbsup: cheers....(didn't know you were meant to bleed them) Don't usually keep them, but we thought it would be a good addition to the seafood basket for dinner. Ive heard these things are really nasty if they jab you...like the flu x 10

I use a few different jigs - a 40 gram Koika in a yellow type colour picked up squid a cuttlefish as well as wrasse
some other 40 gram jig pink and glow stripes also picked up wrasse
both set up with assist hooks at the top and a bottom hook split ringed on

used a pretty simple system most of the time - just drop the jig to the bottom and jigged it slow and some times fast not a lot of winding to keep it in the reef zone
while the kings were there I worked the top section of the water column

I'm still fairly new to M/Jigging and still learning
