Jason as a new guy to the sport and I know Tim mentioned checking Vyak if nothing else check the safety section out http://www.vyak.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=8 -- you don't have to sign up to get in there

I know this isnt the time of the year you wont to go swimming but early on you need to do some re entry training - if you take an un planned dip you do need to know how to right your kayak and get back on

and RoxLady have you kayaked before a sit inside kayak ( sea kayak ) has it's own problems re entering if you fall in , not quite as easy as a sit on top ( like most fishing yaks ) Like Jason check out the safety section on Vyak

Atm I'm looking to build a sea kayak just for exercise + some racing type events and have been a kayak fisho for 8 years . So my plan is to take some training on self rescue and may be rolling
My point is if you have not kayaked before it may be worth doing some training
My kayak PBs
Gummy shark 128 Cm - Elephant fish 85 Cm - Snapper 91 Cm - KG Whiting 49 Cm - Flathead 55 Cm - Garfish 47 Cm - Silver Trevally 40 Cm - Long Tail Tuna 86 Cm - snook 64 Cm - Couta 71 Cm - Sth Calamari 44 Cm hood - Cobia 117 cm

I have kayaked quite a bit, but still good to keep on top of safety first. I bought the dragon pro fisher just to get into some areas can't take the boat. Looking forward to the warmer weather to be back!

Hi Roxylady are you planning on using this kayak for fishing. The design to me doesn’t appear to be suitable.
