Fishing Venus Bay

Post by Mustang38 » Sun Feb 03, 2019 5:42 am

Headed down to Venus Bay today. Got away around 4 and arrived round 6. We were greeted by locals, no advise on special spots though. We headed out through one of the channels and I was amazed by the birdlife. We towed and cast hard bodies all the way. Not a touch not even a bump. When we went out the back on the open water we saw plenty of mullet though. We ran into some shallow water but solved this by joining paddle pulling up all udders and off we went. We got right into the channels and explored the islands and then ended up way out back. Soon as the tide turned we got out of there, we were pretty far out and there was no way I was getting caught too far from home. We had an awesome time though shame about the fish. Not sure if this was normal but water was very dirty, partly from low tide and maybe all Wed downpour and thunder storm we had.
Lots of pics none of fish, guess we have to go back and catch em.

Looks very ideal to be on a yak, great scenery.
A little unlucky with the fishing, but surely was nice out there.

G'day Mustang. The Goddess Venus embodies love & beauty, and with your photos that you've taken, well I love that beauty, what a great looking place, really appreciate your photos, thanks.

As far as the fish, I think you are one of those people that knows, it's not always about the fish, it's the cherry on top of a great day , , , , you guys have already had a great day. Looked a treat and a fantastic day out.

Great locals, their South Australian Cousins say G'day too
