Daiwa Exist OR Shimano Stella ??
Myself and my mate met up for a fish yesterday and you could probably imagine there was a bit of conflict about which Reel comes on top and is the overall better reel
Whats your Opinion? which reel do you prefer?
They are Both a size 2500

Not a clue. The stella's pretty good, but I've never tried the exist, so couldn't tell ya.

Exist. But can't justify the price of them. Handled both a few times but I honestly can't see the benefit over the luvias/certate spec.
Would prefer 2 full luvias and high spec rod combos over one combo with an exist.

I've heard and read the Stella is pretty overrated a dude I regularly yarn with at a local tackles store says his serviced a few and tbh once broken down there not such a great piece of machinery a glorified stradic and he also doesn't think much of them either!

Can't go wrong with either can you? Mind you I'll take 2 certates all day long.
Re: Daiwa Exist OR Shimano Stella ??
You obviously havn't handled a stella, great reel, better than the stradic, great reels, have you thought about a Quatum Evo, best light reel on the market

Re: Daiwa Exist OR Shimano Stella ??
Never really saw the point in reels like these to be honest. I've caught a lot of fish using a Slammer that is more like a fish winch than a reel. Beyond a certain price point it seems like diminishing returns in terms of quality and functionality.

I get the need for 1000+ dollar reels if your'e popping GT or jigging deep reefs but I never really understood it in the lower sizes.
Having read Alan Hawkes review of the 2013 stella (albiet a big one) I would never buy one.

X2why I may have not handled a Stella before I have read what Alan has said about them! Wouldn't spend that kinda money on something just because the company has spent a lot of money marketing it!DougieK wrote:I get the need for 1000+ dollar reels if your'e popping GT or jigging deep reefs but I never really understood it in the lower sizes.
