Daiwa mag seal

any concerns all my fishing is land based i think most decent reels are very well made after every session i wipe down my reels with soapy water and every three session just a touch of oil on line roller any moving parts on handle and bail arm all works well so question is would i ever have to change the oil on the daiwa reels

I thought mag seal reels had to be sent to Daiwa foe servicing.?

i personally wouldn't touch or even dream about owning a mag seal product.
its a gimmick and a costly one as well.
my trusty old certates need no special care at all.
packed the roller bearings full of grease and once a year filled the body with rc differential oil.
one of them have been going on for 5 years + without a strip down.
after every session, blast it with freshwater.
thats all.easy.

No need to touch it mate, leave it as is, and its not 100% effective anyway, water can still get into the reel through the body, magseal only protects the main bearing area.

few othe rplaces now have access to it mate, if i end up going 3rd part to service the reel, id tell them to discard the magseal oil.

its not all be all and end all this magseal oil, you can use the reel even without magseal, it just becomes another normal daiwa reel.
its not a gimmick, and does work, but water can and will still eneter through other areas of the reel.
and id be using grease in the body and main gears not oil

I didn't like the whole magseal idea for this exact reason. Cant go past the older model reels that you can take apart and service yourself.

Before i bought a magseal reel i called daiwa and asked what the turn around is on servicing a magseal reel.. because everyones sends them in to get serviced the turn around time is upto 3 months apparently. I say F that.

3 Month wait is bull, they will loose so much customers loll.

if you guys are so concerned about magseal, then do a magseal delete, aka mag sealing oil is removed and the reel then becomes just another normal daiwa reel..
Look up andrew slazmo on FB or google him, he does it to all daiwa reels on request.

magseal only protects from spray and light water ingress, if the reel is dunked its game over...
i find magseal will benefit those who use the reels on a boat or where salt spray is inevitable, otherwise its just a waste..

I've got seven Daiwa reels that I use for my trout fishing and three of them are mag seals.. two seasons of continued use and not a problem with them at this stage.. not hard to service either. can get a small tube of mag seal oil online from Korea if need be. Mine will probably last longer due to fishing freshwater as well..

Small drop of magseal oil here does the job..
