new rod

i'm looking for a new gummy rod that is within the $100~$200, ill be fishing western port and sometimes port phillip bay. I'm to sure weather go spinning or overhead reel. ill be fishing from a boat. another question is, would 80lb be good leader for gummys, I've done a heap of research but get so many different awnsers.

Overhead reel is certainly better suited if you have no issues using one.

Re the rod for WPB something around 10kg with a medium-fast action would be the way to go.

I use 40lb leader and have been for many many years with no issues.

Just get a cheap glass rod like an Ugly Stick or something. No need to spend big on a rod that's just going to spend 90% of the time sitting in the rod holder waiting for a bite.

For over head Can you handle a abu 7000 or a tld 15 or
Spinning reel shimano stradic 5000 or penn spin fisher

TLD 20 or a Tekota 700 would be an excellent reel choice.
