Kastking Reels

Post by Boonanza » Sun Oct 29, 2017 3:06 pm

I was in BCF today looking at Baitcaster reels and discovered that most reels are right handed only and basically have to make a special order for a left handed reel. The bloke there recommended Kastking reels he said they are very good quality for the money and you can buy left handed reels. After having a look they seem pretty good and the reviews aren't too bad. Has anybody had any experience with them?

I would strongly recommend sticking with the right hand setup. I'm left handed and wind with my left hand usually, but all my overheads are right hand wind. Took a bit of getting used to but didn't take long, it's by far the better way to go, especially if you go up to game gear where everyone will run right hand setups, or use other people's gear

I'm left handed with a right hand set up as well, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Yup left handed too and just learnt to do the “right” thing. Most left handers are a bit ambidextrous I reckon.

I'm actually right handed but wind with my left. My old man was a molly duke that's how I learn't when I was 3.

Do you cast left- or right-handed?

I'm right handed but I always wind with my left hand.

I want my dominant hand to hold the rod and control the fish.

It amuses me watching fishing shows and seeing the rod being passed from the left hand to the right when the fish gets difficult.
Cheers,
Neil
