7ft rod | Joining issues | Swelling ?

Hi Guys,

I have a 7ft rod where it not longer joins together and very hard to push the top half to the bottom half.

Should I sand down top have end so it fits again or try something else.

Do rods swell making it harder to join?

Has anyone had this problem before and if so what did you do.

Is the end dry? Or moist? Is the end thatbis slots into got corrosion or salt build up in it?

Thanks for your reply.

The end seems dry and hard to push back in.

Should I sand the end down a little or drill the other end a little.
