Cleaner and lube for game rollers?

Post by smile0784 » Wed Dec 20, 2017 4:25 am

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a solvent and lube for game rollers?

Its about time i didi mine and want them to last a.bit longer
I use to just use petrol and then reel greese on my cheap game rods but probably not the best for good gear.

Brake Cleaner and thin oil, I use triflow I know of others using blue grease used in reels but IMO this is too thick.

Hot soapy water then a good coat of Inox all over the rod and rollers and wipe down.

Cheers, Anth

Ditto.
Inox is the go. Doesn't dry up like other sprays and is great for wiping down rods and reels. I have a clean cloth soaked in Inox to wipe down just about everything and keep in a zip lock bag.

I got around.to clraning some rods today. Some of the inner sheeths are stuck in the rollers even after a soak in petrol.

Any suggestions to get them apart?

Are they meant to be stuck in there?

Nope all the others come apart.
The inner sheeth comes out of the roller
