BCF are having a sale again...10000 gosa for $259 (hopefully means another race to the bottom by all the other retailers)

They are a good reel no.doubt.
I've hand tested a 10k side by side to a daiwa BG 6500
BG was hands down more smoother to wind.
Both had really smooth drag when pulling line off reel by hand.
Drag sounded a lot better on the 10k hands down..

I also had access to 4 saragossa on a tuna trip.
All had a bit of play in them and felt slightly clunky. But that could be because they were used frequently...

Either way though it's a good reel.
I don't do much heavy duty fishing to justify the extra $100 over the BG.

Atm dinga I think has the cheapest at 240 with free delivery for the 10k

Thanks purp. So 10k shimano = 4k daiwa?

So confusing lol why cant it just be universal standards

Edit: just googled some of the figures, seems the 10000 gosa is somewhere between a bg 5000 and 6500. Extra bearing in the BG, gosa has 5 kilos drag pressure on the 5000 and the 6500 has 100m of line capacity on the gosa while the gosa weighs not too much more than the 5000. The rest is pretty similar.

Stats wise, value for the dollar says BG6500 to me, but the gosa 10000 is probably the best overall reel.

Good news Daiwa are moving to the Shimano size standards as they roll out thier new LT type reels.

Read the allen hawk review of the Daiwa BG first....but gosa and bg are both good value reels.
