I prefer overheads with big weights and very fast currents less line twistMattblack wrote:What's the deal with the charter specials in WPB?...is it for the bigger bycatch on offer?Nude up wrote:4000 sustains with 20lb braid in ppb and charter specials with 40lb braid in wpb. I also use a 2500 sustain on my soft plastic/vibe rod.

I think it's fair enough to say that there is no right or wrong - everyone does it different depending on how you want to fish.
Currently considering 2x Baitrunner OC's @4000 or 6000 or possibly going for some Shimano Nasci's in the 4000 or 5000 size (can be had for $100 atm).

I'd be jumping on that. I've got both OC and Nasci reels...both good, but the Baitrunner option is great (even if your only using it to pull line off the reel) Chuck it on one of those $50 Ugly sticks from Anaconda & you'd have an awesome PPB snapper combo for $140bowl wrote:Oc 4000 r 90$ odd at compleat angler from Thursday.yepi'mon wrote:I think it's fair enough to say that there is no right or wrong - everyone does it different depending on how you want to fish.

Also found them on Dinga for $125 with a Fin Noir Bait Teaser rod (not sold on it being any good though)

Re: Snapper PPB - What's your size reel?
Yeah I've got both as well - the Nasci just looks like it might be slightly higher in quality. Also pushes out 9kg or 11kg of drag which is pretty tough for a reel that size and price.Mattblack wrote:I'd be jumping on that. Re: Snapper PPB - What's your size reel?
I use the 3000 and 4000 size reels, seeing as the biggest pinkie I have caught is 45cm those reels are plenty big enough.
