Yea that sounds about right. From memory was awhile ago now but I think I paid $199 for the last one I bought :)

:super: Hopefully now with this better set up I can snag a gummy or two on the weekend.

Surprised they’ve held there value for so long and did see some for around the $250 mark. Happy to get the spin fisher V cheap too.

Got reel from BCF on a deal with a penn marina 6ft 9in 6-10kg rod for ) $10 cheaper than the reel on its own.

A good reel with a smooth drag system , most rods available today give good service .

Yea I’d say leaning towards decent reel be harder to fix on the spot, but a decent rod is needed too as you wouldn’t want a guide to break or a tip snapping off mid cast.

I would spend 3/4 of bugdet of reel. Look at a.stradic 5000
