Surf Rod line class

Post by FishHunter81 » Wed Jan 02, 2019 8:57 am

Hi guys. After some advice regarding Rod and weight class. I often use my surf Rod for salmon and pinkies and have had not much trouble using it as it is 5-12kg weight class. My question is would this be suitable for gummies and kingfish or would I need something with higher weight class? Thanks in advance

Should be fine for gummies. Guess it depends on the size of the fish.

It'll be fine for gummies  I've landed 100kg+ sharks on my 6 - 12kg, 12ft rods.

It'll be fine for gummies and anything else you're likely to get as by-catch.
