Antique fishing rod
Hi everyone, i had to join this forum to see if anyone knows of this rod, i cant find any info on it at all apart from 1 that was for sale a few years back, it says its made in Australia for coles store's and the brand is flexon, the reel is an old alpha reel.
Any ideas on its age?

Re: Antique fishing rod
Probably not the same but all I can find on flexon rods as that they are split cane and made in Japan.

Maybe drop this guy a line and see if he can give you any info: https://australianfishingmuseum.com/
Looks like his specialty is reels but I'd be surprised if he hasn't picked up a bit of knowledge about rods over the course

Hi Yowie, My first rod was a flexon from santa, circa 1970. Fairly sure it still might be kicking around mum's place. You are probably correct that it was sold through the old coles five and dimes as we had one just down the road in Elsternwick.

I still have my old Flexon fibre glass surf rod from the early 70's from Coles. I once got a Ryobi overhead reel around the same time from McEwans hardware store. Was a good reel too. That went yrs ago in a garage sale though.
