When the Curado DC arrived, a local tackle store had one set up on a Loomis rod. I did my best to 'birdnest' it and succeeded a few times! The 'DC' concept reduces the chance of error but does not eliminate it. That's the way I see it anywsy. Are you looking at buying one Seb?

I like the idea of a DC baitcast reel, but always been too expensive. Haven't tried though. I know I wont buy $400+ reel, so why bother trying or playing around with it.
RRP $339 pre order that SLX DC. During sale, it can go down to probably around $260.
I dont like the original SLX, feels like a plastic toy. Feels light and easy to break, not sturdy. I'm also have a thing for old school, I'd rather buy a certate or a steez for example than a fancy DC

Here's a video by Tackleworld.
For a quick second, no birdnest with full swing cast and no thumb, maybe on full brake.

I wish I had of taken a video of the Curado DC I used! Would not have been a very good marketing tool. Although I guess I could have edited out the crap bits to make it look good!

I'd buy you a coffee to see that video! :-D

With full brake, it's almost impossible to backlash a baitcast nowadays. But you wont get the distance and the smoothness/accuracy as much.

I have never used normal baitcast reels on full brake. When you say it is impossible to backlash them, are you talking about during the cast or when the lure stops as it hits the water!

Any!

I remember a two cents clip by Paul Wosterling. Full brake baitcast, closed his eyes and casted a rubber weight with no thumb. Full video from before casting, during and after the rubber weight landed. No backlash at all!

I tried that too btw. No backlash.
