LBG rod suggestions?
Looking for medium - heavy LBG rock fishing rod. it will be paired with one of my 10k gosa's.
I have literally only fished from the rocks once in my entire life, so wouldn't even know what specs to look at...?
I don't want to break the budget since it'll only be getting small amounts of use but at the same time I don't want to buy something **** that will last a couple trips before it breaks...
Maybe $150-200
Go!

Re: LBG rod suggestions?
Inspired by DougieK's Portland adventure, I picked up a Shimano Revolution 802 2 piece from Anaconda recently; heavy rated (p4-8, or 40lb-80lb), but not too heavy to hold. Can't wait to float it off some structure. Seems a decent rod.

Re: LBG rod suggestions?
Just something cheap and made of glass then. Long enough to keep the line above any breaking waves. Or use the Prevail. Grab yourself a bit of PVC to jam into a crack in the rocks and use as a rod holder.
You probably don't need to bother with a PFD as you're not going to be fishing from a beach.

Hahaha...maybe, maybe not! Is that the 10-24kg model? There are many in the range. Depends what you are doing/chasing I guess. For kingies something like that should be fine.

$120, after the "regular" discount. I think they are about $160 normally...Kimtown wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 8:53 pmPrice?

Re: LBG rod suggestions?
I probably should have added I will more than likely be fishing with a bait suspended under a balloon, does this have much effect on choice of rod? Wouldn't need to be as long as a surf rod id imagine?Redhunter wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 8:55 pmHahaha...maybe, maybe not! Is that the 10-24kg model? There are many in the range.
