Hope everyone is catching a good bargain somewhere - there's plenty of good deals from all the retailers at present. Good for us fishos i say :)

Was passing CA yesterday and decided to take a short detour through the store to check out a 7 ft 'ish rod to replace the one that snapped after I played too long with the massive ray at Eden las year.

Saw the Daiwa Saltist on the rack for about $170 from memory but as soon as I held it in my hand there waa an alergic itch and rash and that was the end of me and Daiwa

There was 2 other rods that I did like - a Eurocor and Tica. Not your brand named variety. Went home and did some Googling but there's not much info at all. One certainty is that these manufacturers seem to be originated from the world biggest photocopier aka China. The sale price is quiet good - around the $100 mark.

So would be grateful if anyone can shed more information on these rods - much appreciated :nw:

Cheers Bowl for the direction to Tica rods :tu:

Went back to CA on Sunday and brought home 2 x 10ft rods - An Eurocor Seabass and a Shimano Ballistix Pro.

With each rod costing less than $100, will take the punt and see how they both fair up.
