Yep, the Daiwa's are generally equiv to the next size up Sihmano's, so a 3000 Diawa is the same capacity as a 4000 Shimano and so on.

Got a 3000 freams today. Feels light and smooth. Now to get some 10lb braid, braid, braid, for it. Any suggestions?
To fish or not to fish...NOT TO FISH ??Yea...like that's even an option !

i dont know but i wish they got their chit together and made it easier to establish the reel size intended for a particular set up :doh1:
And hook sizes while they are at it.

Bit late for you Phil. But for the same money as a local freams you can get a caldia 3000 from digitaka (Japan) which are a much better real with mag seal. You don't get a spare spool though.
