Just got a 1500m spoil of j braid. Just wondering what tool should I use to assist in putting it onto the reel?

Go to bcf cost $10 per reel and they do it

is there something you could suggest purchasing for long term solution?

I use a paint roller handle in the vice turn the plastic end caps around apply pressure and clamp cost about 5 dollars puts braid on super tight I can post a pic if you want

Drop the spool on the floor and let it bounce around.

To be honest, if you are using braid and egg beater reel a line spooler is not needed.

I use chopsticks or pencil. I insert it in the center hole of the spool and hold both ends with my big toes. Simple, no cost, nothing to store.

Dont pay the tackle shops to fill up your spool very nicely. The pile will be ruined on your first cast anyway

If you have a spit or similar rotisserie, use that and wedge the spool with paint roller end caps or similar

Pretty sure i seen a line spooler for sale at the Compleat angler sale catalouge.
But as suggested already, plenty of home made remedies to do this.
can also use a power drill and attach you spool to that and off you go.

i personally have just have the spool sitting on a screwdriver wedged against something so it doesnt fall off, wedge some cloth or a weighted door runner against it to stop the spool from freespinning, run the braid through the rod and onto the reel and wind with the rod loaded up a bit, that way the braid goes on tight.
