Here is what I use you can adjust the preload on the braid by the vice grips against the plastic end cap puts the braid on nice and tight using the rod .

The busted fishing spooler is pricey but incredibly high quality. Solid spooling really really makes a difference especially if you're spinning for big fish. I won't spool a reel with braid using anything else.
