+ 1 on maxima. Used if for years before I went to braid. Still got some reels spooled with it.

Can't comment on Karikai braid as I've never used it, but tried loads of other brands and found power pro to be my favourite. I've never had any issues with it and it's hassle free, doesn't get tangled like other braid brands.
It is a little noisier and somewhat rough textured but in terms of performance it can't be faulted.

Re: cheap snapper combo and braid options
yeah mate, try it for sure, even the 8 for small fish like pinkies etc would be great, just test it out properly and see if its in good order and go frm there, the one i had would break in my hand when pulled hard enough and it was 12lb line from memory.Marty.A wrote:Ive got an 8,10 and 12lb spools is it worth using the 10 and 12 for leader use only??purple5ive wrote:ive had it break quite easily a few times and ive heard the same from others.Marty.A wrote:Is that Berkley Vanish any good?? got a few spools given to me from a mate who moved O/S recently.cobby wrote:Maxima ultragreen or platypus lo-stretch
