Some more lures I have to try for freshwater!

Post by Rod Bender » Wed Jul 11, 2012 9:52 pm

Hi All
Just some more lures I have that I want to try out at some point. Purchased them online from the US a fair while ago. When they arrived I had many of my old faithful lures out in my tackle trays so thought I would clean them up before I unleash these. Also, I have only been chasing redfin mostly or bait fishing so am saving these for trout, somewhere, sometime!!!
Some shallow diving Rapala Shads (including an X-Rap). I haven't seen these (shallow diving) in shops anywhere, well not here anyway. Will try these on redfin eventually too. Mepps spinners, I like pink for trout and I also think the contrasting black/white color will do well. Last but not least some different colored Rapala Original Floaters that I haven't seen here much, if at all. I have a lot of faith in the red / gold color and the silver / yellow color. This looks nothing like any baitfish I have ever seen but I think it will just be a very good color for discolored water like the firetiger pattern.
thanks
Jim

Hey Jim

Those Rapala minnows are excellent, the chartreuse/silver is a top trout lure in the Goulburn and it's tributaries, and the orange/gold colour is great for Black Bream in the Maribyrnong & Hopkins Rivers.
