People are already making copies of expensive lures and in general they just aren't as good.

The latest edition of Freshwater Fishing mag has an article on Australia's best cod lures. Several anglers/writers gave their choices. One of the anglers named this lure as a new one that has potential! No coincidence that the angler is sponsored by Jackall! Another anglers choices were strangely enough aligned with his sponsors! But...Rod Harrison was the odd one out! He named some classic older lures of which I doubt if he recieves endorsements and gave a generic description of a spinnerbait, rather than naming brand names. I regret not going to his talk when he was here in Shepp a couple weeks ago. On another note, still wondering why I waste my money on magazines!
cheers

How much bloody fishing would you have to do to get sponsored by a well known lure company? Damn.

Not much. Providing you can catch even one fish each short session, take a few pics at different angles, even pin some other lures for final touches. Show your face around, place well in the comps you fish and talk some bull along the way.

Most though are actually bloody good anglers that'd catch a fish just about anywhere

I thought the store would struggle to move these lures when they arrived. They sat on the shelf for many months! Until the cold weather arrived which heralds big cod season here...and these lures walked out the door! A smaller version by Jackall arrived a month or two ago in the same store...they flew out the door!
cheers
