I have used rui jigs for 9 bucks each can't really go wrong. The cloth doesn't rip as easily as harimitsus or shimanos. The barbs arent as sharp as a yama, but have recently got an upgrade. The darting and sink angles are good. He has a good range of colours.

Yep, great darting action. Get the jig along side in the water and check it out. I've had plenty of squid on them, will buy plenty more in future.

Gave the rui jigs a crack today, caught 20 squid in 90 minutes, good sink rate and the cloths held up well. Will be using these from now on.

Anyone looking for a squid rod could do a lot worse than his gear as well. Got one of the 8'6" 'explosive limit' models he does. Very, very happy with it. Ideally suited to bigger jigs, which is all I use in reality.

I predominantly now use Rui's jigs. Before that I had alot of Hara's and yamashitas. The quality is good and I've caught a fair few on the gold and banana jigs on piers in southern PPB. Prices are also very good too
