Mystery lure

Post by Nuscani » Thu Feb 23, 2017 4:58 pm

Was fishing in a rocky area on the Mornington Peninsula a while ago and I found an old lure hidden in the rocks. Have no idea what type of lure it is, how old it is or where it came from. It is made of metal, not plastic.
Does anyone know anything about this lure?

All responses will be greatly appreciated :thumbsup:

Here are the photos;

UPDATE - After doing extensive research provided by 'Nude up', I now know that the lure is made of brass. Still don't know about the date.

The style is that of a Devon Minnow spinner. Other more learned lure enthusiasts may be able to provide the exact brand or make of this specimen.

We always called them aeroplane spinners for obvious reason. They cause terrible line twist.
