Easy access storage of squid jags

Post by Bugatti » Sat Jan 26, 2019 7:57 pm

Hi Guys

Was at the Boat Ramp retrieving one day and notice this Boat with an ingenious little simple idea on how to store squid jags that are out.

Great bloke and had a good chat (pity I didn't take a photo when he said I could)

We all have our own way of storing our squid jags. But on a boat when we are changing jags, having some out for options or just putting them on the baitboard, dash, compartment etc. Then when we go to get one of these jags we end up getting spiked and find it is like getting monkeys out of a Barrel of Monkeys.

He had a piece of marine carpet fixed/glued to the inside of the hull just under the gunnels. It was like Squid Jag Velcro. Been procrastinating but am going to make one. Mine is going to be just a modest piece, with a rubber channel glued/siliconed to the top of it on the back, so it slides on to the windscreen frame when I need to use it and is removable and the can be put away, out of the way when I am not using it.
