I have a 3.8m deep v tinny that I punch out 3-4kms offshore at times chasing snapper and gummies. Not for the faint-hearted, and you do need to do your homework on the winds before heading out (below 10knots offshore breeze is ideal). Wouldn't do it in a flat-bottomed tinny though, as they don't handle the chop very well.

i use to take mine out in the bay up to 15 knots with a 6 hp if it blows up just take it easy going in

Also sorry but anyone recommend some spots to take 4 year old and the boat to fish . Freshwater and saltwater.
