I have bought fishing stuff on there before and quickly realised you are better off buying from a tackle store or a reputable online store

depends on what you are planning to buy. I buy sinkers from eBay for 50% less than what I will pay tackle shops, already delivered to my door.

I just picked up a dozen various lures from different sellers in the us. About 60% of the price from the local. I still buy a bit of gear from my local but when you are buying multiple lures a $5 saving adds up quickly.

i buy most of my hooks from ebay. i also buy braid fishing line from ebay. i got tired of boat running over my lines and wasting the expensive stuff so now i just buy the braid from ebay in 1200 meter spools at a low price. its not as flexible as the better name brands so it doesnt cast as well as fins or power pro or the better quality but it is strong enough for the fishing i do. and now when a boat runs over it i just let them take the whole reel of line in their prop. they might learn not to come in so close after they have to replace prop seals.

Boutique-Lounge is a good ebay store for decent fishing rods. i have bought their 16 foot mogul surf rod and im happy with its performance. it takes some getting used to as far a casting because its a flexible tip. but i have caught many fish on it ranging in size from king george whiting all the way up to gummy sharks. tackledirect168 is another ebay store i use to buy hooks. i buy all of my hooks from this store. i have never had a problem with them. they are always sharp and seem to be good quality. they dont rust. im sure there are many other ebay stores that are great but these are just a couple that i found that have good products for a good price.
