To start, westernport or ppb.?

Westernport, you're generally going to need heavier gear. Our standard snapper/gummy outfits are 10-12kg rods, charter special reels, 25lb mono line. Ezi rig slider, down to a snap swivel, 60lb leader, down to 2 4/0 gamakatsu suicide octopus hooks early season, single 8/0 later season.
Pretty simple, not really massively expensive setups.

I agree with this but imo sometimes its great to use a lighter leader....I think it can make the bait look more natural

but only myopinion....it may not matter at all
