Tip: Barometric pressure has a big affect with snapper.....they dont fire well during a low falling barometer (such as today).

Low water temps seem to have made things somewhat tougher this season. Bite windows have been short. They should fire right up over the next few weeks though.

To get some actual help to improve what you are doing Answer the below questions and it may highlight some changes you can make.

What are you doing? What baits are you using? Are they frozen from a high turnover location or from random servo? What rigs? What leader? What hooks? How are you presenting the bait? Are you using berley?

You need to be fishing at sunrise and sunset instead of spending 10h+ on the water

Wake-up early and be at your chosen spot, anchored, burley in the water no later than 4.30AM.
Fish until 7AM and if you haven't caught anything, pack-up and go home!

Then if you are still keen, come back and be at your chosen spot, anchored, burley in the water no later than 6.30PM.
Fish until 9PM and if you haven't caught anything, pack-up and go home!

Bait is OK fresh or frozen or re-frozen so long as it is presented OK to the fish. If they are hungry, they will eat almost anything.

Yes...but I am not confident enough to go in the dark on the water

Fresh squid bait cut into rings, fish around the tide changes (the closer to sunrise and sunset the better, but not essential), 6 or 7/0 circle hooks, look for broken ground, reef and gravel is best.

Learning to tune your sounder and read it is key, which only comes with time on the water. Once you get that right, finding then identifying the snapper comes pretty easy.
