So I noticed the baro is high this weekend. Does it mean snappers can be caught in the west?

Is it if baro is igh fish bite or if there is a sudden change in readings it brings fish on?

Din make it there. Was too rough. Ended up at Bellarine on sat to escape the east winds. Marked some amazing arches but only got 2 small flathead there.

On Sunday just stayed in werribee in about 4-6 m and got 5 good flatheads and 3 squid over 6 hours from 8-2. Lost 2 flatheads at the surface though. My initial plan for Sunday was Wilson spit.

I've been out on Corio bay and PPB a few times in the last week and the fishing has been tough. We found snapper at the south end of the bay near the channel. Try off Mt. Martha in about 20 m of water. We were plagued by pinkies but managed a few good sized fish. Pilchards and fresh squid on a paternoster rig works best at the moment. Keep moving until you find fish. We moved about ten times in a day.The squid seem to still be near mud island but not at St. Leonard's or off Clifton Springs. We only manged one small whiting off the mussel beds out from Clifton Springs. But we got a good gummy on squid strips after dark near Wilson Spit. Plenty of rays and banjo sharks.

But the fishing is tough. Maybe something to do with the full moon.

Anyway, good luck.

Sounds like you still managed some nice fish with a good feed. How big did the gummy go? :)
