Which area do you usually set out from for the snapper Buggati,if i ser u i will say hi ?
Be-careful what you wish for. You think I can type a lot , , , , well I can talk under water. I like being sociable :-D

But saying "Hi" might be a bit difficult , , , , I live in South Australia. I mostly venture out from West Beach or North Haven Boat Ramps.

A "Hi' may still be on the cards , , , , you just never know what the future holds :victory:

It's July already and Snapper Season is coming up quick. Might be a good time to start banking up some Brownie Points.

Here's a poem that may get a few points.

"Good morning good morning, my sweet Pumpkin Pie,
My soft crusted Beauty, so pleasing to the eye.
I have a nice craving, so I think I just might,
Nibble on the edges and take a soft bite.
You smell so delicious, and I'm sure so tasty,
But let's not rush, or do anything hasty.
Just know while I'm fishing, what you shall find,
It's not Snapper that I'm thinking, it is you on my mind."

This next one won't win any Brownie Points and may even put you in the Dog House :o_0:

"When the alarm goes off, and I get out of bed,
You're not the one on my mind, it's of a Mighty Red.
So don't be all schmootzy, that hour of the morning,
While I'm staggering down the Hallway, probably still yawning.
I'll be stretching out the aches, and patting my guts,
Rubbing my damn eyes, and scratching my nuts.
To make you think, that it is you that I'll miss,
I shall lean over to you and give you a hurried kiss.
In case you think I don't love you, when I depart,
I did wait till outside, to do that smelly fart.
You know I have to travel, pretty well far,
And I better get going, cos Don's waiting in the car.
Now all through the day, please don't try and phone,
I'll be out fishing with Don, and want to be left alone.
When we get home later, and we look quite sad,
Then you'll know that the fishing, was really very bad.
There's nothing worse, than cleaning an empty Boat,
Not even a Snapper, to brag or to gloat.
So leave me alone, don't even look me in the eye,
I'll be with mate Don, and don't want to cry.
We'll lick our wounds, so there's nothing to fear,
Cos we'll drown our sorrows, with a frosty beer.
While planning the next trip, so we can wet another line,
Because we can find comfort, that there is always next time."

Cheers, I wonder who'll use the second poem :-D Bug

I absolutely love snapper season. To me it also means the cold weather is coming to an end, public holidays are back, Football finals, Melbourne Cup….where else would you rather be?!
I love prepping the boat the night before an early start….I even enjoy the hustle and bustle at a busy ramp at those stupid hours when the normal people are still fast asleep. I like to people watch & classify everyone into a stereotype. You get those guys that are angry at everyone, then you get those other lads that are just thrilled to be there & want to chat to whoever will listen….the heroes with the $200K+ setups that look down at everyone else with a smug arrogance & the old chap in the 1970’s cuddy looking back at them with a knowing smile that he’ll out-fish them any day of the week. You get those guys that are new to whole thing & can’t do a thing right because the poor bastards are nervous, apprehensive and excited all at the same time….you get those SWAT teams that can have a boat down the ramp and in the water in less than 30 seconds.
You have all sorts of characters fishing off the piers/breakwalls as well...the space invaders, the know-it-alls, the stand over man that owns the pier.
It’s only a couple of months until those magnificent crimson creatures come back into our bays, and I’m just wondering if anyone has tips on getting ready for the season. Is it too early to start racking up brownie points with the missus, have you started mixing up your never-fail-secret burley recipe, are you pre-tying rigs, making sinkers, do you start calling mates you haven’t spoken to for the last 9 months, are you studying tides and moon phases before you request your annual leave?
Looking forward to the conversation!
Can't wait to a cure for my big red sickness.

Had an couple of hours to spare trying to oil my deck but the rain ruined my day so I thought I would tie some rigs.
15648264538538.jpg
Gathered all my gear.
15648261686985.jpg
Add one colour.
15648262046566.jpg
Add the second colour. Then all of a sudden.

Just got to tie some paternosters now maybe tomorrow.
