Hey everyone,
I recently made a trip to Mornington Pier to fish. I caught some pinkies. But, the highlight was the school of salmon. We were fishing at a spot where there were no barriers. We saw a BIG school of salmon passing by, and we drop-casted out rods but they didn't seem to be hungry. The bait we had was just Pilchards and Pipis. One person managed to land a Port Jackson shark, and two girls landed a stingray! I saw a man reel-in a Banjo, which I think, along with another stingray-type species, is considered as a pest in Victoria. I caught a 27-centimetre pinkie, 1 centimetre below the legal limit! I was hoping to catch a legal one to eat. The same girls who caught the stingray landed a 31-centimetre pinkie, but decided to release it. A man hooked up a great sized leatherjacket. I saw a little boy catch a garfish. It was a great day overall. :water:

Not a bad day mate. When you saw the school of salmons, you didn’t have any lures/plastics to throw at them?

We did have plastic lures and metal lures, but we had just arrived so we started simply with pipis.
