Nothing like a sneaky pre work fish
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

Re: Snapper on plastics
Looks like you had fun. What gear did you use?
2500 reel 2-4 kg and 8lb line be enough?
I might take my yak there in a week or two.

Re: Snapper on plastics
I had a second rod with me that was 2-4 that I pulled a few smaller fish off the edges with but hooking a good one in the middle on it would surely end badly. It also depends how hard you're prepared to go on your gear, this time last year I was fishing more open water for the pinkies and landing fish to 50cm on a 1-3kg rod 6lb braid and 6lb leader but I was pushing it hard for that gear.

Good stuff man. How much fun are these guys on light gear. Been so long since I caught a few I was quite surprised when I hooked a few of them last week.
Cheers

Yeah I see, 5kg rod and 3000 reel with 15 lb line sounds more ideal on the safe side.mazman wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2019 6:54 pmI had a second rod with me that was 2-4 that I pulled a few smaller fish off the edges with but hooking a good one in the middle on it would surely end badly. Thanks. Hopefully they're still around.
