Where would you be fishing for LB snapper this week?

Post by nooga27 » Sun Oct 06, 2019 9:28 pm

Hey guys,

Got the day off work tomorrow and looking to have a morning sesh and fish the 10:15am high tide somewhere landbased for snapper.
Thinking of Brighton, St Kilda or somewhere in Port Melbourne like Kerferd or Webb Dock. Has anyone heard of a particular area that is going better than others? Or has anyone been having some land based success?

I was at Brighton tonight, fishing the high tide. Quite a few pinkies around and a fair few bites. Had a decent run but pulled the hooks. Was an okay session but I'm catch and release so only looking for a larger model, not pinkies!

On a side note - has anyone been finding any lb squid?

Thanks!! :gj:

Saw a nice 70cm red get caught at brighton today, I was there too in the afternoon. Heard a few squid being caught lb around brighton as well infact.
Good luck with wherever you pick.

Yeah I saw that post before. Thats what i'm looking for! :o_0:

It's looking like Brighton may be the place of choice unless I hear of some Port Melbourne action. Hoping the squid start to appear again!!

Me too, if the water clarity gets better i'll have a crack at the squid, way too dirty and windy today. Seeing that red being caught is making me want to put more hours in at brighton, hopefully I can produce something.

On a serious note I've heard of a couple of decent reds taken at lagoon pier, good luck getting a spot there at this time of year though.

Hahah, yeah I was thinking of lagoon too. Almost impossible to get a spot but it's 5 minutes from home so could be worth a look!
