Gulp in nuclear chicken and Zman's bleeding banana seem to work ok, I'm not a good snapper fisherman though so maybe some others can give you their prefered soft plastic colours.

rule of thumb I have for plastics fishing is at night you fish with darker plastics, clear water visibility you fish natural plastics and low water visibility you fish more vibrant plastics, seems to work for me pretty well.

haven't used pumpkin colour specifically but I can vouch that the 4 inch curly tail worms like the one in fishingvic's pic are nothing short of a weapon when it comes to flatties and pinkies

I think with bait fishing its a bit different, i'm not one hundred percent sold on the whole flasher idea, but with bait fishing i'd be focused more on bait presentation and hook exposure, it's important to consider if your bait will sit naturally in the current, or will it spin around like a merry go round because of its shape? Hook exposure is equally as important, hypothetically, you're not gonna catch many fish with a weeny little hook through a big bait like a pillie. Also if you can get your hands on a rod, get one, being able to sling baits out into deep drop offs with big 10-12ft rods is very advantageous, will also make your job a lot easier if you hook a fish.
