I use 2 types of Hooks
Mustad 92608 No4-They are a long shank stainless steel guy on my 8foot 6inch rods and Black Magic circle hooks 1/0 on my 1-3kg Gloomis rods.
After every FUSHIN trip I replace all the hooks

G'day Denis! Is there a reason you use both long shanks and circles? Is it dependant on the bait you're using? I'm keen to target a few ting this season and steering towards circles as to avoid gut hooking the buggers, as I have that problem alot with long shanks.

Starting with 3 rods trying to attract the Fush with berley its very hard to control all the rods.
2 long shank hooks on the long rods and the circle on the keeper smaller rod
Ill strike the Fush with the long rods and the smaller one just sits there and most the time the fish catch themselves

2 long rods in the stern rod holders
1 smaller rod on a side rod holder
The Ting are big here and they get gut hooked even using Long Shank and Circle hooks
Most times I use local caught squid-Strips about 5-6 mm wide and 20 mm long
Using long shank hooks if fish are gut hooked -Hold Fush upside down, get a knife and slit the lower jaw open and pull the leader backwards this will give you enough to hold onto the hook for removal-Doesnot take any time at all,
Another reason for 3 rods is when the bite is on and you are pulling one in you always have a line in the water, sometimes the bite might only be on for a short time
Use a leader about as long as the rod -On the 8ft 6 rods my leader is 2000mm
Cheers
