Purple sees Red!!!
Fellas,
Had my 4th trip for the season and for the first time i took my boat for a change.
it wasnt a good start though as i lost gps lock on the trolling motor and because of that i couldnt anchor, which was a shame cause i sounded up some real nice arches early in the day. eventually we got it to work and had a fun session.
One cousin got his first proper Red going 65cm, and the other cousin and myself got into some nice pan sized fish ranging from 30s to 45cm along with a 60cm flathead as bycatch. few fish were dropped one was a cracker, along with a few jigheads coming back out of shape.
ended up with 7 fish and a few flathead as well.
All fish were on plastics in 3 and 4 inch sizes, fishing 11-18m of water.

Re: Purple sees Red!!!
Cheers guys. Was certainly fun.
But I'll admit it was a lot of work. We were out for about 12 hours On the water. Fish all came around the tide change.
Heres some of the sounding I did.

Re: Purple sees Red!!!
I adjust according to what I can see, aka constantly changing to get desired results. I dont pay attention to the number I keep going up or down as soon as I see fish on the screen until its clear enough for me to read.Robbie1950 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 11:14 amPurple, do you often sound with your sensitivity on +5?
I use medium chirp or 83 in shallow water.
Medium chirp or 200 in deeper water.
For some reason 200hz wasnt giving much detail, so I used med chirp and got better results , high chirp was also no showing much in the same area
Colourline is on 76 or so from memory.
Slower scroll speed when drifting and bit higher when sounding.
Ping speed is usually on the high side.
Hope that helps
