High tide vs low tide

Hey guys. I've recently been trying to get out fishing off the surf more often. And was just after a few opinions. I've been told by some people that its better to fish off the surf on low tide because its easier to get into the gutters. But I've also been told that the salmon usually come in with the tide.
Anybody care to clarify this for me?

Well, this is a big topic Talha, but just to answer your question the shortest way, in my opinion a couple of hours before and after the tide is the best time for surf fishing, especially for Salmon.
However, for some small gutters, you will need to locate them on a low tide, but to fish them on the incoming tide should be better.
Having said that, the fish need to be on the feeding mood to bite and to prove the theory, else if they are not in the mood, then the tide will not make any different.

Depending, from what I understand certain areas will fish better at certain times.

For example, you may fish Gunna on a rising tide and not catch a single thing, leave and the next person may bag out on a falling tide.

Sometimes it may be either sunrise or sunset, regardless of the tide.

theoretically 2 hours either side of high tide is suppose to be the prime time for landbased.

Try Gunners just on high tide, fish the first two hours of the ebb. Don`t bother with sunrise there, never had any luck. Sunset however, can be pretty good. Watch for the waves...lol...

I always try to fish the tide in & out 2 hours each way......

At least then you catch it in both directions.
